As you are aware, guidance from the Government is changing every day in regard to the recent coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. The current guidelines from the government are for people to remain at home for the next three weeks and to only leave the house to: buy essential food or medication, exercise alone or as a household once a day, or to travel to work if absolutely necessary as a key worker. As an NHS service, The Hive Health Centre will remain open so that we can continue to provide healthcare to our 5000 + patients. However, in order to keep staff safe to allow us to continue to maintain our service, we ask that if you show any new flu or cold like symptoms such as a cough, temperature, sore throat or loss of smell that you do not come to or contact the surgery but contact NHS 111 online. Also, please only come to the surgery where absolutely necessary to protect staff, yourself and your fellow patients.
You can contact the surgery by telephone (0161 654 4103), email ([email protected]), text (07780 793149) or via our online services, – if not already signed up to the latter you can do so by accessing NHS app.
We also request that you nominate a pharmacy so that we can send your medication electronically to them – if you haven’t already, please contact the surgery to do so. We are also limiting face-to-face appointments, as per NHS England guidance, unless they are strictly necessary so we will currently only be offering telephone consultations. If you already have an appointment booked we will be contacting you in due course to check you are asymptomatic (if you do need to be seen face-to-face), or to change your appointment to a telephone consultation if not, so please avoid contacting the surgery to discuss your upcoming appointment as our telephone lines are already extremely busy. We also cannot provide information regarding your rights regarding time taken off work to self-isolate; this will need to be discussed with your employer. If you are considered a patient at very high risk if you were to contract COVID-19, you will be receiving correspondence from NHS England to this effect in the coming days. Unfortunately we cannot confirm if you fall into this category as the criteria are constantly changing and ask that you wait to be contacted. In the meantime, we will try to keep you up to date with current guidelines as much as possible, so please stay safe and follow government guidelines to protect yourself, your families and the public as a whole. We also thank you for your continued patience, kind words and understanding as we try to maintain our service as best as we can in these testing times.
