How We Thrive to be Outstanding

The practice would like to be the Hub of the Middleton community and the surrounding areas. We have been actively involved in a number of community initiatives, including helping out at a local community centre, the Lighthouse Project, including by helping to decorate their new building; by raising awareness of and helping the homeless through a number of outreach projects; and by raising money for various charities through participation in a number of charity races and events.

Closer to home, in conjunction with our patients and their families and friends, we have recently set up our own community garden at the surgery. This was achieved by using recyclable material such as pallets and old tyres in place of expensive planters, which helped to save money and reduce our carbon footprint.

The Practice has seen an increase in loneliness, social isolation and obesity; both are becoming a large problem within the UK. Our aim is to use the garden to educate patients of all ages on where our food comes from. The project also aims to help increase mental and physical well-being for all generation by drawing people together to decrease loneliness; by providing exercise for all abilities; and by growing healthy, edible and sustainable food.

Our Awards

Whilst our aim is to continue to provide dynamic friendly healthcare to our patients and achieve the satisfaction we get from doing so, it is always pleasing to receive recognition for our efforts and the Practice has achieved a number of varied awards since our inception:

We have received two awards at the annual Special Thanks and Recognition (STAR) awards ceremony, which was held at Middleton Masonic Hall.on Thursday 29th June 2017.Now in their fourth year, the STAR awards celebrate and recognise GP Practice staff, GPs and CCG staff for the excellent work carried out to achieve the CCG’s vision of ‘Healthier people, better future’ Our very own Dr Danielle Peet won the the Shining STAR award 2017 . As the presenting parties also stated – and as we are all already aware – Dr Peet is “special, one of a kind and is loved by the patients and staff”. Well done Dr Peet!!
